About the event

Join Equal Ground Community Gardens as we present the Let’s Dig In Garden Planning series, a four part webinar series designed to get you gardening this 2023 season! The series will be held via Zoom and each session will focus on one area of garden planning. You’ll walk away from each session with knowledge and action items to apply before the next session. This webinar series is free to attend and we welcome everyone! Need a refresher or cannot make all sessions? Register for the sessions that you want- attend one, attend all four! This series is recommended for all levels of experience, from beginner to advanced. There will be lots of room for questions and discussion. *Please note, you will need to register for each session individually*

February 15, 2023 7-8pm- Garden Planning: this session will focus on identifying growing space, choosing what to grow, deciding what variety and where to obtain your seeds, designing your garden space, and an intro to garden journaling. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions. Action items from this session should be completed by the next session.

March 5, 2023 7-8pm- Seed Germination and Garden Prep: this session will focus on how to start and grow your seedlings, how to begin preparing your garden as Spring emerges, what actions to avoid as Spring emerges, equipment considerations, garden journaling prompts. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and recap their actions since the last session.

April 2, 2023 7-8pm- Sowing and Succession Planting: this session will focus on sowing early crops for our growing zone and best practices, succession planting, harvest techniques for Spring crops (lettuce, kale, radish), garden journaling prompts. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and recap their actions since the last session.  *with special guest Nancy Lee of the Master Gardeners of Grand Erie*

May 7, 2023 7-8pm- Planting and Maintaining your Garden: this session will focus on planting seedlings and best practices, how to care for your garden late Spring into early Summer, and how to maintain your garden throughout the season. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and recap their actions since the last session.

Concerned you’ll be left in the dust in June with a garden and no idea what is next? Have no fear. EGCG will be presenting on various topics throughout the season via our Greenhouse and Learning Centre, both in person, online, and through social media. This could include guest speakers, workshops, classes, and co learning space. Ensure you are following us on our social media channels, join our Facebook group, and subscribe to our mailing list. We have a wonderful season planned for 2023 and we’re excited you are joining us!
